After reading all about the iPhone for the past couple years, and seeing and playing around with friends’ cracked versions of the iPhone, there’s finally been an announcement that the iPhone is coming to Canada!
It has been predicted a long time ago, and although Microsoft was rumored to be looking into acquiring Yahoo last year, they made an official bid to buy Yahoo for $44.5 Billion yesterday.
The most popular open source database engine in the world, MySQL, has been bought but Sun Microsystems. As a long time MySQL developer, I have to say I’m pretty excited about this.
Internet Explorer has been the bane of web development for the past 4 or 5 years. When Internet Explorer 6 first came out, it was awesome! I loved it. But then when CSS and standards-based design became popular I realized how bug-ridden the browser actually was. Then Microsoft, in its infinite wisdom, decided to stop production on Internet Explorer and IE became a stale, dated, and to put bluntly, horrible web browser. The problem was that everyone used it!
The effect of the rising Canadian dollar is having a significant impact on online shopping for Canadians. Because of the huge change in the currency, I’ve found that it makes more sense to order online from American stores and save lots of money.
