Transferring Net Shift Media’s Blog Posts
Last year when I redesigned the Net Shift Media web site I incorporated a blog into it. However, I decided a couple months after that my goals for the site didn’t quite match what I was doing with the blog, and so plans for this site began. Now that I’ve got this site underway, I’m going to begin transferring all the old blog posts from Net Shift Media to this blog.
I’ve gone through and reviewed some of the most popular posts I made on the Net Shift Media blog, and I’ll be bringing them over to jarrodgoddard.com. This site is where I write more freely about web development, Internet marketing, and running a business. The Net Shift Media site, as my business, is not where I want to post a lot of this stuff, so I’m going to be removing the blog from the site and changing it over to an articles listing with more business-oriented content, that I would have potential and current clients read.
Some of the posts I’ll be bringing over include:
- Internet Explorer 7 Security Options
- IE7 Javascript Debugging
- Importance of having a cross-browser compatible web site
- Benefits of SEO Other than Rankings
- Review Your Log Files for 404 Errors
- 10 Tips to Secure Your Web Applications
- My Office Backup Strategy
- Linux Backup Script Using Bash Shell
- Mounting an External USB Drive in Linux
- Outbound Links in Your Web Site
- Methods of Marketing Your Web Site
- Costs When Building a Web Site
- Writing Content for the Web
- Overview of Duplicate Content Issues
- SEO and Web Accessibility
- What Content Should Be On My Web Site
- How to Choose a Domain Name
- Upgrading to Mysql 5
- Upgrading to PHP 5
- Web Site Directories
- Robots.txt File
- Unique Page Titles and Descriptions
- PHP File Uploads
- Different Styles of Content Management
- Popular Web Browsers
I’ll be going through each of them and updating them if necessary before posting to this site. I’ll hope to start on it pretty soon, but in the meantime, take a look at each of the articles and if you have any feedback, please let me know.
